Pernod Ricard Winemakers - Sustainability

Diverting waste from landfills is crucial for both environmental sustainability and economic efficiency. This practice involves redirecting waste materials away from landfills through recycling, composting, and other waste management strategies.  Diversion from landfill has various environmental benefits, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving natural resources, and reducing pollution in soil, air, and water. Alongside these environmental benefits, there are also several economic advantages, such as cost savings from landfill tipping fees, job creation in industries associated with recycling and composting, and improved resource efficiency as industries adopt waste diversion practices.  Our submission highlights three initiatives we have implemented to support the diversion of waste from landfills and contribute to sustainable waste management in the industry. Our long-term partnerships with ResourceCo and Electronic Recycling Australia have supported our commitment to a sustainable and economically viable future. Additionally, our most recent initiative of repurposing a standalone labeller to separate labels is yielding positive outcomes.
