WISA and Australian Grape & Wine are seeking to establish a joint working group to enable a better link between supplier and wine producer technical issues working collaboratively with the Wine Industry Technical advisory committee (WITAC).
The objective of this group is for suppliers to facilitate and assist the Australian Wine Sector:

- To have a supplier representative working group liaising between both Oenoppia (http://www.oenoppia.com/) and the Australian Grape and Wine – Wine Industry Technical Advisory Committee (https://www.agw.org.au/about-australian-grape-and-wine/board/wine-industry-technical-advisory-committee/)
- To create better integration and alignment between the OIV codex and FSANZ
- To lead and address technical matters that impede suppliers to uplift and extend the capability and competitiveness of Australian grape and wine producers.
Current issues which are on the 2020 agenda include:
- Additives and processing aids manufactured to OIV standards and applied in the Australian wine sector.
- Impacts on the Australian Wine Sector of DAWR imposed Seasonal Measures for Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB).
The aim is for the group is to be Australian based and to meet four (4) times per year. This working group will work closely with the WITAC for consideration of technical supplier issues and actions.
