Steamtech wine barrel steam wand is carefully designed to maximise the performance of the Optima Steamer.
The barrel will reach an internal temperature of over 100 degrees C in just a few minutes to sanitise, rehydrate and rid the barrel of any tartrate build up.
With the digital temperature display you can monitor and ensure full sanitation of the barrel.
Dry steam in the form of vapour can penetrate to all internal surfaces of the barrel and even up to a depth of 6mm into the oak itself.
This system is much faster than any water treatment and uses 95% less water. As a result, cleaning and sanitation is much quicker and more effective.
Steam is very effective for control of Brettanomyces, Zygosaccharomyces and other common yeast genera.
